Greg Torre began his career at the state’s lead economic development agency in the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office where he served as Director from 1998 to 2006.  In addition to recruiting television and motion picture projects to the state, he developed and helped pass the state’s first film industry-specific incentives, including the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act. 

Later, within the Global Commerce Division, Torre served as the division director for the agency’s Small Business & Innovation team, with oversight of the Governor’s Entrepreneur & Small Business Office, the state’s Innovation & Technology Office and the Georgia Centers of Innovation.  

From 2009 through his retirement in early 2020, Torre served as Deputy Commissioner of Marketing & Communications for the Georgia Department of Economic Development. The award-winning team of marketing creatives and public relations professionals handled all aspects of the department’s B2B and B2C advertising and marketing needs through print, direct, outdoor, experiential, digital, and social media platforms.  

Currently, Torre provides economic development focused consulting in the areas of marketing, film industry and incentives development. 

Torre is originally from South Carolina where he graduated from the University of South Carolina.  He’s lived in Atlanta since the early eighties.
